What we’ve been doing, what we plan to do and how you can help
As the end of the year approaches looking back seems irresistible. Over the past months, along with keeping up with day to day maintenance, staying ready for Retreats, All Day Sittings, Quiet Weeks and welcoming guests, there have been a number of projects completed: adding a full bathroom and kitchenette to one of the rooms on the ground floor; a complete update to the Center website; planting and harvesting in the garden; installing new flooring and a fresh coat of paint in Room 4; and maintaining the decorative landscaping around the building. We’re grateful to staff and volunteers who have been working hard to keep the Center in good condition.
There are a number of additional projects planned for 2019 including replacing old mattresses. We would like to begin work on an equipment barn, and reduce our energy footprint. This would involve not only solar panel installation but replacing old windows, and an airlock for the reception area. (More news of these projects in the coming months.)
Please understand–we need your help to do everything we do. We try to keep event fees and membership dues as low as possible, but this means they meet only part of the expense of operations. We rely on generous donors to make up the difference.
If you’d like to sustain the Center in an ongoing way, please consider being a member.
