As the Year Ends
A year that presented dramatic and unforeseen challenges is coming to an end with a feeling of renewed energy. In March this year a younger generation of staff and volunteers rapidly responded to the Center’s closing by erecting an online platform where the meditative work is more available than ever. Other staff undertook a significant new building project, while kitchen, garden, office, and housekeeping workers kept the Center’s day-to-day life and communications smoothly functioning. The summer annual talent show was the best ever with Zoom allowing performers from near and far to participate. All this happened with the support of members, friends, retreat leaders and trustees. It is heartening to know the Springwater Center community is alive and well.
The response to our November appeal is one of the signs of hope now appearing at this dark time of pandemic. Warm thanks and deep gratitude to all who contributed. It’s clear the Center will continue into the New Year in online mode, with in-person participation now on the far horizon. If you have not yet donated and would like to do so now, please use the “Donate” button below.
See the Calendar for upcoming and 2021 events. When it becomes possible to hold in-person events again, they’ll be on the same dates as the online events listed in the calendar.
The four-day New Year’s retreat with Wayne Coger is taking place. Apologies if you missed seeing it on the website calendar due to a short-lived error. There’s information below about this retreat and much more.
