Stillness, Silence, Simplicity

The blossoming of understanding, love, and intelligence happens on its own when a human being questions, wonders, inquires, listens and looks silently.

Seven Day Silent Retreat with Sandra Gonzalez November 2 – 9 in person and online
|
Sandra Gonzalez will lead this retreat from Springwater Center, before heading back to her native Nicaragua for the winter. She will give talks, attend dialogues, and be available to meet privately with participants during the retreat.
Sandra has led retreats in both English and Spanish for many years. She began working with Toni Packer in 1988. Previously, she studied at other meditation centers and in 2003 Toni asked her to be one of the people to help carry on the meditative work of the Center.
There is still space for in person attendance. You can register to attend this retreat in person or online using the button below.
Sandra writes in an article titled A Reflection on Meditative Inquiry:
When awareness, that is in itself whole, all inclusive, dawns upon the human heart then there is a seeing of the relationship between each other, the interconnectedness. Amazingly there is no longer the possibility, or at least not the probability, that we will latch onto a fragment and get stuck there. The possibility arises that all our actions may be whole, total, natural and without effort; these actions can address the situation at hand, what is in front of us, from this depth of understanding. Every action or non-action will have the perfume of wholeness, compassion and a more creative living will pour out spontaneously and effortlessly.

Staff hard at work maintaining the retreat building
|
Bob Bromley and Chris Wang-Iverson have been working hard this fall to maintain our buildings and grounds. We have had some beautiful autumn weather allowing for all the windows and more to be painted, trails to be mowed along with Wayne Coger clearing felled trees on the trails.
The love of this land, the Center and the Work of Meditative Inquiry, is alive and well. Thank you to all of our staff, volunteers, guests, members, teachers, trustees and program participants.
