May 9-19, 10 Day Online Retreat with Sandra Gonzalez, Wayne Coger and Stew Glick
Sandra, Wayne and Stew have been leading retreats at the Center for many years and are venturing into the virtual clouds to facilitate this ten day silent retreat.
Sandra writes in an article titled, Behold the Ever-Changing Movement of “Me,” Just now, rain drops are falling, producing different tones as they hit the roof and different surfaces, sounding like an amazing symphony that fills the empty space of just being here.
A sense of harmony and balance is felt, with a clear joy that comes with the simplicity of being here—there is no sense of lacking anything or missing or needing something. At this moment of being here, where are the so-called problems?
We stop for a moment and notice perhaps, as Wayne writes in a booklet titled, A Moment of Stillness: Questions about Meditation and Inquiry – Stillness is at the heart of direct listening, direct being with and there is nothing we need to do to bring it about. We are this stillness and stillness is not something we need to attain. Meditation, awareness, allows us to see clearly what is here, what we truly are and what we originally are—whole and complete, not lacking anything.
A talk titled Illness and the Fear of Dying by Stew from last year’s April retreat is resonant with our current times. In it he asks: Is there a different kind of dying? . . . Dying to who and what we think we are—our history, our talents, knowledge, preferences, . . . our resistances, our hopes, aspirations, our negative as well as positive self-images . . . is this what terrorizes? The idea of not continuing as I know myself and all that is identified with? Hear the talk by visiting Stew’s teacher page and scrolling down to the section on Talks and Articles.
Timed sittings, dialogues and private meetings with Sandra, Stew or Wayne are offered during this retreat. Participants will receive a Zoom link, a general schedule, and instructions for signing up for individual meetings.
The suggested contribution for the retreat is Members – $25/day; Non members – $30/day. Part-time attendance is possible.
