Center re-opening December 26

Staff are taking a break right now, but will be back on December 26 and preparing for the December 28 – January 1 New Year retreat with Wayne Coger. This retreat is nearly full. Contact the receptionist before applying, to see if space remains.

Financial Office Staff Position Open
The Center is seeking a staff person to work in the Financial Office. This position calls for a detail-oriented, conscientious person with a strong interest in meditative inquiry, who would like to serve the Center’s community and experience staff life. Benefits include participating in retreats, food and housing, a modest stipend, medical insurance and some medical coverage.
Training is available. However it is desirable that applicants have administrative/office/computer experience. Familiarity with QuickBooks and the MS Office Suite will be very helpful.

2020 Rate Increases

Please note that the Center’s trustees have approved an increase in retreat fees and requested contributions from guests and All-Day Sitting attendees for 2020. The new rates will take effect January 1st.

January 17-20 Weekend Retreat with Susan Schepp

If you’re thinking of atttending, please don’t be deterred by possible cold and snow on this weekend-spanning retreat. Over the years we’ve found that the stillness and deep silence of January actually supports sitting meditation and inquiry. Susan will give talks, take part in the group dialogue and be available for individual meetings. Space is available. To register, please use the button below.

February 15-22 Retreat with Wayne Coger and Susan Schepp

Winter brightens by mid-February. There’s a sense of the earth’s energy beginning to gather for the great transformation of spring. We hope you’ll be able to join us for this retreat encompassing the President’s Day holiday. You’ll have access to two retreat leaders. Wayne and Susan will both give talks and take part in group and individual meetings. Space is available for full and part-time attendees. Use the button below to register.

Saturday February 1 All-Day Sitting

These days of quiet sitting with a talk and afternoon group dialogue have become exceptionally popular, and we have had to limit attendance. Please, if you reserve a place in an All-Day, be sure to attend, or let us know beforehand if you won’t be able to come. Otherwise you may be displacing someone waiting for a space to become available. Contact the receptionist to reserve a place in the February All-Day. More information.

Following the February retreat with Wayne and Susan, the first Quiet Weeks period of the year is February 23 to March 6, then there will be a seven day retreat with Les Schaffer March 7-14.

That’s not all that’s scheduled this year. Please see the website Calendar page. It’s wise to make your plans to visit or attend retreat well in advance.

There’s a change to 2020’s Calendar

The November Quiet Week period has been changed. It will begin Sunday Nov. 15 and end on Sunday Nov. 22. The Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday Nov. 26, 2020.

Visiting Students from Lagom Landing

We enjoyed a visit in December from this year’s students at nearby Lagom Landing. Les Schaffer took the students through an introduction to meditation, with lunch to follow. Thanks Lagom Landing, for introducing us to this year’s students.
