Summer can be a hectic time. Take a quiet break and Zoom in to the Online Program this Saturday June 13 at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

Following a 25 minute sitting, there will be a recorded talk by Springwater Center’s founder, Toni Packer, from the July 2005 retreat in Springwater.

As the rain falls in the background, Toni speaks of listening in a simple, direct way, whether to the rain, birdsong or the blowing wind. She goes on to look at expectation and projection, and what they do to us. In doing the work of just attending, she explores if it affects the person and how. 

Following the talk and a short break there will be an opportunity to dialogue with other participants. The program will end at approximately 4 p.m.

Wayne will take a break from his administrative and maintenance duties to hold this short summer retreat. Space is still available for full and part-time in person attendance, and there is unlimited space to attend online. 

Wayne brings a wealth of everyday work and meditative experience to retreats. He has been meeting and working with others for many years, and has served on staff since 1983. Here’s a few words from a talk by Wayne: 

…is it possible to take in whatever’s here, whatever comes up, choicelessly? The whole body listening, alert, wondering, what is it, this moment? All this that has never been touched. There are no special skills required. The mastery is to be here in utter simplicity and innocence.
