This coming Sunday, April 28 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., EDT a gathering will be held both online and in person at Springwater Center in memory of Susan Schepp. Susan was a member of the Center from the time of its inception, and beginning in 2016 she led retreats here. Susan passed away last September. Her complete obituary may be read here.
If you are able to join us, it is not too late to register at info@springwatercenter.org. If attending in person please arrive by 1:30 p.m. to be oriented to the building and sitting area.
The In-Person and Online programs begin at 2:00 p.m. There will be opportunities for anyone to speak of their memories and appreciation of Susan. This will be followed by refreshments, with tea and coffee served in ceramic cups Susan made for the Center.
A favorite of hers, a pink dogwood tree has been planted in memory of Susan. It is shown in the photo below and is visible from the sitting room windows. Thanks to staff and friends for their horticultural expertise in acquiring and planting the tree. Thanks also to friends and family of Susan, whose donations to the Center helped in purchasing the tree.
If time and weather allow, following the program there will be a hike to the northern woods to install a handmade marker at the beginning of the newly named Susan Schepp’s Trail.
This is an occasion to honor Susan’s love of Springwater Center and the Center’s love of her. Friends here look forward to your participation in this special event.
